How does the SafePurr alarm work?

Pull the orange strap and the siren starts. Push the pin back in to stop it. The side button turns the LED light on and off.

How loud is it?

Loud enough to make people nearby turn around. It's made to be heard, so don't sound it close to anyone's ears.

Can it go off by accident?

It only sounds when the pin comes out. Clip it where the strap won't catch on things (an inside loop of a bag or backpack works well). If it goes off, just push the pin back in.

Who is it for?

Anyone who sometimes walks alone: teens, college students, runners, adults, and kids old enough to walk to school or the bus stop on their own. It isn't a toy: show them how and when to use it.

Can they take it to school?

School rules vary, so please check with the school first.

Is it a weapon?

No. It only makes a loud sound, and the side button turns on a small light. In an emergency, get to a safe place or a trusted adult and call 911.

What batteries does it use?

3 LR44 button batteries, already inside. An adult can replace them by removing the 3 screws on the back with a small Phillips screwdriver. Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children: a swallowed button battery can cause serious injury. If you think a battery was swallowed, get medical help right away (Poison Help: 1-800-222-1222).

How long does delivery take?

Orders are prepared in 1-5 business days and then take 7-14 business days to arrive. Shipping is free and tracked. We currently ship to the United States only.

What if it arrives damaged or doesn't work?

Email us within 90 days of delivery with your order number and a photo or short video, and we'll send a free replacement or refund you. The same applies if we sent the wrong item.
